Merrill Lynch contacted me during their search for corporate entertainment for their annual meeting. The Managing Director saw me at a charity benefit and thought I would be a great fit at their event. It took place in Jacksonville, Florida, which was a nice treat to perform back in the Florida warmth after a cold stretch of speed painting performances in Philadelphia and New York.
As is typical, I arrived at the venue several hours prior to my performance time to start setting up. My equipment was shipped to the venue ahead of time and the hotel had the stage built and ready for me to build my canvases and begin setup. Once that was done I did a sound check and then I was good to go!
After they wrapped up the meeting, I was ready to close the night with a bang. Companies looking for corporate entertainment often like to add my speed painting performance in at the end of the day. After a long day of meetings and speeches, they want a way to send their employees off excited about their message. This day I performed Einstein, Frank Sinatra, and the Statue of Liberty. I also painted the Merrill Lynch Bull in advance in the studio and presented it to them to display in their office. I put my own spin on it and was really pleased with how it turned out. It received a huge applause when it was unveiled at the end of the performance.
When I returned to my hotel room later that night I had a nice cheese and fruit platter along with a bottle of wine waiting for me. Turns out a few members of the hotel staff stayed to watch my speed painting show and enjoyed it so much that they had this gift sent to my room! Such a nice gesture and really appreciated. Awesome night in Jacksonville, Florida providing corporate entertainment for the great people of Merrill Lynch!
