I had the pleasure of entertaining a great group of people in Toronto, Canada last night. I was hired to provide corporate entertainment at the Ontario Transportation Expo at their annual conference. OTE is a conference and tradeshow that allows those in the transportation industry to network.
I flew into Buffalo, New York and I was met by freezing temperatures and snow. I figured mid April, the weather should start to be a bit nicer but that was not the case. I was not going to let a bit of snow stop me from giving them a great performance.
After arriving at the venue and setting up my canvases, we went through a quick sound check and I met with a few event organizers for last minute discussions about what to expect that night.
I was warned when I was booked that this group only enjoyed about five acts out of the last fifteen that entertained them over the years. When I heard this I was immediately up for the challenge, as I feel I have really polished my show over the last few years. I went in and gave them a solid speed painting performance, kept the crowd engaged and the feedback after the show was great. Thankfully, everyone loved it!
When I left Toronto the following morning the weather was no better. I absolutely love my job as a speed painter and touring corporate entertainer so I guess I can’t complain about a little snow in April.
Don’t risk booking the wrong corporate entertainment at your next event. If you have a crowd that is hard to please, give me a call, I will make look like a genius.
